I have never even been to Whitby--at least that I can recall from my childhood. But I visit the library almost daily--online, from Philadelphia, PA.
Many of my ancestors were from Whitby, and I have enjoyed the chance to learn more about them, and the town they knew, though your website. To look at the faces, their homes, their farms. I think this site justifies the whole World Wide Web--it is worht it, just for this ability to connect with ones past, one's roots.
I plan to visit often!
Sincerely,
(The Rev.) Judy Buck-Glenn (Crawforth, Cribb, Whitney, etc.)
